About "Description: A Starting Point, Work by Brian Blackham and Jordan Wolfson", October 18 - November 29, 2014

The show features two artists who, in the making of their work, look at and describe things; they both proceed with the awareness that description alone is not a reason to make a painting.

Description is used as a point of departure from which to make paintings that arrive at the that elusive line separating representation and abstraction (Wolfson) or employ simple objects as place holders to define the space between them (Blackham). The viewer looks for or seeks the objective description in the paintings, and while doing so, becomes aware, not necessarily consciously, of the abstract and spatial intentions of the artists.

Jordan Wolfson will do an artist talk at 3 pm on Saturday, Oct. 18th @ 3 pm
